I am Hesen
My name is Hesen Filitoglu. Kurmanji is my mother tongue — the language of my childhood, my family, my history.

After a Master's degree in Kurdish Language and Literature from Bingöl University in Turkey, recognized by ENIC-NARIC in France, I settled in Rouen, where I have worked since 2020 as a Kurmanji teacher and, since 2021, as a social and medical interpreter.
It was in the field, working with French speakers curious about this under-taught language, that I wanted to go further: to build a complete, structured and rigorous curriculum, designed specifically for French speakers — with no shortcuts, no approximation, held to the same standard as any major living language.
After several years of work, this curriculum now includes 34 lessons, from the alphabet to the finest grammatical subtleties. I share it here in the conviction that Kurmanji deserves to be learned seriously — and the pleasure of passing it on keeps driving me every day.
